An interesting topic that could get you shot or severely beaten in certain crowds. Still though, I think this idea has merit and should be considered by most fly fishermen. Some areas get so much pressure that we as fly fishermen should probably consider excluding certain tactics and actions from our arsenal, whether or not we are forced to by regulation. Another personal ethics idea I find attractive is stopping when you've caught your limit of fish, even when you're letting them all go. That went through my mind on a western stream this year after I had gluttonously caught more fish than I ought to. Such a tactic could free you to target specific (and larger) fish and just generally take things easier, while easing the pressure on the fish.
